Invest in the next generation of Aboriginal leaders (Youth Leadership Program)
$ 150.00

Ganbina is an Aboriginal-led and registered charity that runs a year-long Youth Leadership Program. The program aims to invest in the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders, by showing them how to become leaders within their communities.

Throughout this program, Aboriginal students in Year 11 create aspirations for higher leadership standards, build community, and their leadership capacity, and become positive role models for their families and peer networks.

The program introduces them to other mainstream leaders of significance by involving them in regional, metropolitan, national, and international events and helps develop their leadership skills and capacity.

All activities are hands-on and designed to challenge the body and mind. Focused on leadership and collaboration, the program puts students through a range of activities designed to empower, motivate and inspire: developing both their skills and ability to work in teams.

Participants have the opportunity to gain independence, develop relationships and build self-confidence and resilience. Cultural activities led by local Elders promote cultural identity and pride and explore traditional skillsets.

Each year the students enrolled in the Youth Leadership Program have access to activities such as outdoor education camps, domestic trips to Uluru and Cairns, as well as international trips to New Zealand to learn more about other Indigenous cultures around the world.
